WHAT A TWIST!! I loved it. Definitely a psychological suspense/horror.

i made my own playthrough! lol i call this a psychological horror. i love the style and just how effect the writing is in making the player feel.

great game. i'm excited to see what you have next!

Great idea and cool game. I really like the transition of music and environment. I have just noticed that you can't scroll down through answers without a mouse and this is bad for laptop users without a mouse. Would be nice if you make it scrollable with touchpad or arrow keys. Keep up the good work! :)

Great game! Great Story! I had to keep it PG for my viewers so I cut out some of the language but it was a pretty good game. I was really amazed by the story and how you start out with a date and notice small strange things. I don't recommend to audiences less than 13 (I bet they'd play anyways) but I don't think anyone less than 13 would understand the character's emotions anyways. Thank you for the good story.

When I downloaded this game, I knew it would be interesting from the glitchy title, but boy did it really capture my attention! I was able to get 3 different endings and thoroughly enjoyed the script. This game is a spiritual successor to the original Blind Date, which I wasn't privy to until after playing this, so... some of the references were lost on me until post. :P Other than that, it was splendid and I definitely recommend it!

This is great. Definitely rings true with some of the emotions it explores.

HONK HONK

At first glance, it seemed like game that’s about going on a blind date with total stranger and it started to become creepy as it goes on with weird things happening around you.

The story is great, the graphics are neat, and the game gave me a scare as soon it progresses, which made it even better.  I recommend this game  for anyone who wants to play!

This is great

This was an absolute delight to play! I don't want to give away too much of the story, but suffice to say it's a fantastic exercise in conversation and interaction.

As the game goes on, you become more aware of your surroundings, and things become a little less crystal clear.

This is an excellent experience, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone! Great work peeps, keep up the awesomeness =)

This really caught me off guard. I thought it was gonna be a cute little game, then some demonic story, but not an issue of mental health... Really well done, I loved it

Game was great, and personally hit close to home.

Hey there, any chance we can get our hands on the soundtrack? It's really amazing

That was a pretty interesting and intense game. Had no idea what was coming. Great job. Made a video, hope you enjoy!

Just played this. Super great, though HOT DAMN THAT WAS UNEXPECTED!

Wow...I knew going into this game that there was more then meets the eye but I was not prepared for it! Great game! The message behind it was intense and is something that a lot of people go through! Really enjoyed the experience!

To certain kinds of people, this game has a direct and strong message. I would've liked to see the... "true?" ending to be developed a tad more so that one doesn't end up feeling like the "reward" for getting through it was a line or two, but overall that's a nitpick on an interesting game. Both the visuals and the story was well done, and I could easily replay it once or twice without the game starting to feel repetitive. Well made.

How many ending this thing has?

I've got "loneliness" and "goose"....

Oh...Karen...Oh. You are such the savage in the game. I gotta say, you did very well on this short game! I thought it was going to be another dating simulator type, but then I got slapped at every step and the background changes! The attention to detail was great through my gameplay.

I only got one of the endings, but I feel like I definitely got my fill of this game, in a good way! The message behind this game was solid and really made me think about things from my past and choices that I've made. The main character reminds me a lot of how I used to be and the whole situation really sheds a light on the concept of inner demons. I absolutely love how you took that idea and ran with it. The atmosphere was absolutely stunning. Scenery changes really caught me off guard and I didn't know what to think or even what to expect next. Thanks so much for making this!

I totally loved the meaning behind the game, it was quite SAVAGE.

Just leaving a comment to say, good game.

I was expecting something more creepy but this threw me off so hard I was speechless at the end LOL nice job xD

This was a beautiful game. I related all too well with the main character, so it definitely hit home for me. I was able to get two endings out of my playthrough. Are there more?

I must say I really liked the Art-Style of this Game ( Especially the little Changes while the Date is going on). Will play it multiple Time for exploring the differences with the other answers.

Seeing so many people connecting with our game is really stunning and wild, and I've been reading every little comment here and on each youtube thread. This story reflects a lot of thoughts that I have struggled with and will probably continue to for a long time.

I've spent a long time being dissatisfied with a lot of media. In retaliation, I turned in towards myself and created my own things that spoke to me. I also convinced myself that no one else wanted to hear it.

I think almost 2000 people have played Blind Date, and judging from some of the youtube view counts..... a whackin' ton of people have seen it. Thank you so much for all of your kind words, and not so kind words, and everything in between.

Oh God, this game is terrifying. i went through a rabbit hole of bad decisions and the world was disintegrating around me

This game is interesting and I enjoyed the twists the plot took! Good job!

Really creative and surprising game.

Definitely a wild ride, so many odd twists and turns. So many weird endings and paths I could take. It was a really awesome game, dealt with some real heavy stuff towards the ending. No spoilers but I NEARLY got what I'd consider a "good ending".

9/10

Spoilers/My Opinion:

I like this game a lot. I like to think of it as Karen being your subconscious, the thoughts that keep you up at night and tell you that you don't deserve love. I don't think a lot of people take the game for that and I think it gives the game so much more meaning. When I played through the second time and saw the real Karen I realized a few different things.

  1.  He was psyching himself up for their anniversary and having all these doubts about himself he had on their first date because he loves her because doesn't want to mess it up.
  2. On his first date he expected Karen to be this stunning woman as he waited at the table with his anxiety. This could mean two things but i'd like to think its the latter; he  dates Karen all the while wishing she was that perfect girl or,  he sees Karen as that beautiful girl despite her flaws.
  3. He has to come to terms with his own problems before he can really be happy. He can't fix his problems with a lover.

I love this game because I think a lot of people have these feelings; whether it be of self doubt, not deserving love or simply anxiety when it comes to dating. For people who played this game and only take it at surface level I challenge you to play it again and think about these things. I feel inspired by this game and its concept so I give it a 9/10. Again this is all just my interpretation of the game. Please forgive all my run on sentences. Thank you to Solscape Studios for this beautiful experience.

Mac version anytime soon?

This was an awesome little game. Fun joke endings, deep introspection, and a great overall meaning to the plot. I think I found all the endings... Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

Don't bother with this game. It's another one where it tries to start off normal with nerdy jokey options but quickly blows it's cover into using language straight out of an abusive partner's playbook to rag on you about you secretly being a terrible, unlovable human being that's suicidal. Of course the way to get the "good" ending is to just take the abuse until you break the 4th wall and it completely renegs it's entire original rant by granting you a girlfriend anayway.

Yawn. 1/5 stars if that.

This game was so good, with its elaborate, yet simple plot and twist. It's definitely worth the praise.

Hi there, I just recently played through your game, I never played the classic version but I really did enjoy this one. I'm just going to quickly go over some things I liked and potentially some things I didn't like throughout my playtime.

I've always been a fan of the pixel art style when it comes to games, and that's no exception here, the art is fantastic. Even though the game takes place in one single area/scene there's a lot of detail packed into it, things that you may not notice if you aren't paying close attention. The story is a roller coaster ride and I love it, it starts out innocent enough but there are some weird twists and turns throughout it, and the fact that there's 8 endings to game really shows the work that went in to making sure this story was great. The game made me think a lot, especially towards the end where I tried to put myself in the main character's shoes, it was a really interesting experience overall.

The only thing I didn't like was the lack of save states, in visual novels (especially ones with a lot choices) you're offered at least a few save slots so that it makes it easier to go back and see the different outcomes, I know it would be a bit tricky to pull off depending on the engine you've used but I feel like it would be a major asset to have.

All in all the game is great, it looks good, plays well and has an interesting story to back it up. I would highly recommend giving this game a shot.

I hope you don't mind but I made a short let's play of my time with the game.

Cheers and best wishes,

Killjoy

Hey Killjoy!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so happy you appreciate the detail in the art! Detail's my middle name.

As for save states, I encourage you to play it a second time with a wildly different approach than when you first went in and see what you end up with! Head out on multiple blind dates to truly find yourself. ;) -mentalpop
